| Hi everyone. As weve stepped into the new year I would like to share a simple thought with you. Even though Christmas is over it is from a verse found at the end of the Christmas story Luk 2:20: The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. The shepherds had visitors from heaven while they were on duty. Although they were frightened, this was good news and they decided to go and see for themselves. Some of the facts were easy to check, such as the city of David and a baby lying in a manger (in other words his family must be quite poor). But this could not be the reason why they actually left work this night. How would they know that He was a Savior, Christ the Lord and a joy to all people? We know Jesus later said: My peace I give to you a peace unlike the worlds. The shepherds must have felt this, even as He was a baby (actually we know His spirit had effect on John before they were born). They found EVERYTHING as it had been told them. They knew God was with them. We have been told many things about God, ourselves, others and what they call Christianity. Why dont you think about for yourselves what youve heard about these and other things Can we say that all these things have been told us by God? Or are for example Christianity churchianity? Have we tried to find out for ourselves whether it is true or not? If it was God telling us, it should be good news and result in us glorifying and praising Him because weve found everything as it has been told us (remember He does cannot lie). The shepherds were told God was with them. We know that God lives in us and as us. Let each one of us in 2007 search to find out and then discover more and more of this truth and its consequence for ourselves.
