The Mystery Revealed – (1) Spiritual Learning Difficulty PDF Print E-mail
Written by Frank Irawo

This is why I, Paul, am in jail for Christ, having taken up the cause of you outsiders, so-called. I take it that you're familiar with the part I was given in God's plan for including everybody. I got the inside story on this from God himself, as I just wrote you in brief. As you read over what I have written to you, you'll be able to see for yourselves into the mystery of Christ. None of our ancestors understood this. Only in our time has it been made clear by God's Spirit through his holy apostles and prophets of this new order. The mystery is that people who have never heard of God and those who have heard of him all their lives (what I've been calling outsiders and insiders) stand on the same ground before God. They get the same offer, same help, same promises in Christ Jesus. The Message is accessible and welcoming to everyone, across the board. (Ephesians 3:1-6 MSG)

I had been a christian for about 20 years before discovering certain basic foundational truths that set me free from religious bondage. What has never ceased to amaze me is that these truths were there all those 20 years but I just did not see them and the fact that they were not taught in the majority of christian circles did not help my cause. I have since discovered that the mystery of "Christ in us the hope of glory" of which Paul spoke is not readily apparent to everyone. My purpose in this series is to explore the factors that close or open us up to such life changing revelations.

The Director’s Cut

Must-Win Battles

September has rolled around again and that means that the International Corporate training season is upon us. I leave on Wednesday for the US first-stop Louisville KA where I am delighted to be involved in the Friends of Norman Grubb Reunion before heading for Philadelphia to facilitate a corporate training programme. Quite apart from the struggle of being away from home I am loathe to miss a moment of what is proving to be the most exciting work that I have been involved in since we launched Grace West in 2000.

In preparation for the programme that I am facilitating in the US I have been reading this year’s must read management book which goes by the name of “Must-Win Battles” by Peter Killing and Thomas Malnight, published by Wharton it is a really interesting read. Whilst prepping I found myself applying the key issues that are raised in the book to our situation in The Grace Project and in doing so it helped me to bring some real focus to where we are in Christ.

The Doctor's Casebook - Easy Grace Grace? You must be kidding PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator

The Doctor’s Casebook:

Easy Grace? - you must be kidding!

Thanks to Paul Anderson-Walsh we have had some wonderful teaching about the grace of God and Christ working within us. It is a joy to know that we have eternal security and that sin has no power over us, but has it made a positive impact on our day-to-day life experience? The problem with grace theology, along with other practical theologies, is that a system of belief does not necessarily guarantee satisfactory outcomes, at least not this side of eternity.

I remember my years as a Word of Faith Christian, I firmly believed ‘by his stripes I am healed’, therefore I was already healed. Now nothing wrong with that at face value, except that if I was already healed I was not allowed to speak or act sick any more! Because of the doctrine of ‘confess it and possess it’ and ‘we can have whatever we say’, I became too ashamed to ever admit I was ill. The same reasoning applied to finances – my tithe made me right with God, so now he would provide all my needs and open up the windows of heaven, I will never lack – but I did lack, and in that lack I felt that I had somehow fallen short!

In parts 6 (click here to read part 6), we established that our love is a response to His amazing love and when it is perfected in us, it casts out fear. Here we look at how all that we have considered so far about His love, fits together into the manifestation of a stress-free love walk.

To unlock the puzzle of love, let us re-arrange the text in the 1 John 4 love puzzle within the new covenant context.
