In Paul’s words the only thing worse than teaching a doctrine of irresponsibility is teaching a doctrine of responsibility. Paul is of a view that the real majesty of the gospel is that it empowers us. It makes us response-able or able to respond. That is its true genius. The distinction between response-able and responsible is as crucial as it is cavernous. It is the difference between righteous works and works righteousness. These articles set out to prove that Grace Works. |

Understanding the Believer’s Union with Christ
( 4 items )
Paul was pleased to receive Rupert Evershed’s contribution to this section. Rupert a former student of the Grace Project now has his own work in St Albans Hertfordshire called The Grace Forum offers a fascinating perspective on union life. This section mainly comprises Paul’s early writing on the believer’s union. One reader was kind enough to comment that “Your [Paul’s] article “False Self-Syndrome” is the best modern day article I have read yet.” These articles have been revised and built on in the current book The Bonsai Conspiracy. They were also the source material for Paul’s teaching series Man Utd which is a ten part audio set available to purchase in our e-shop.

Fundamentals - Statement of Belief
( 2 items )
In this section Paul articulates our current thinking on ecclesiology. The article entitled “What we believe & what we do” is intended to be dynamic. Paul has confessed that he feels that the area of our ecclesiology is perhaps the most “immature” aspect of our understanding. The what? is clear; we are aiming to create authentic spiritual communities; the how is still a work in progress. In addition you will find a fascinating research paper that Paul wrote as part of his Masters programme. It is a discussion about the life of Jesse Penn-Lewis and her interaction with Pentecostalism. Some of the lessons drawn from her story are highly contemporary.
