It is amazing how few songs fit within the context of the completed work of Christ as oppossed to the many that beg for more. One has to wonder which part of "It is finished"[John 19:30], we find so hard to comprehend..

Please see my comments enclosed in brackets and at the end of the text.

John 4:7-15 MKJV

(7) A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, Give me to drink.

(8) For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.

(9) Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, How do you, being a Jew, ask a drink of me, who am a woman of Samaria? For the Jews do not associate with Samaritans.

(10) Jesus answered and said to her, If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that says to you, Give Me to drink, you would have asked of Him, and He would have given you living water.

(Christ in us through the agent of the Holy Spirit - John 7:37-39)

(11) The woman said to Him, Sir, you have no vessel, and the well is deep. From where then do you have that living water?

(12) Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, and his children and his cattle?

(13) Jesus answered and said to her, Whoever drinks of this water shall thirst again,

(14) but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

(This is a very clear promise, that once we are filled with Him, we will require no more, and we would overflow unto those who have not yet received this gift. I believe the problem stems from Christian not knowing the difference between possesion & manifestation. God's intention was clear, this was to be the infilling that ended all thirst)

(15) The woman said to Him, Sir, give me this water, so that I may not thirst nor come here to draw.

(We seem to keep coming back trying to draw more)

We are declared as complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10) and perfected (Hebrew 7:19; 12:23), these are all absolute terms that leave no room for improvement. You cannot add anything to either. It is Finished, either receive it by faith and begin to act like it or continue to ask God to do the impossible.

Even God in all His might cannot improve on what He has declared complete & perfect.

May we move from begging to knowing and manifesting, so that we would become the conduits to those who have not yet received this gift of fulfilling and abundant life.

We are looking to top up credit that can never be exhausted.
