"If God loves me then why.....?"
The bible starts with these words "In the beginning Love created the heavens and the earth" (this is not a mis-qoute, but an informed one). 1 John 4:8 & 16 declares that "..God is love" and Malachi 3:6 assures us that, that is not about to change, while Acts 10:34 confirms that, that love applies to everyone. Love is the essence of who God is and therefore all His motives and actions have their root in love[2 Corinthians 13:11]. Since He never changes, He would always be Love in manifestation. It is not uncommon for saints to question God's love in the light of their difficult circumstances[Judges 6:13]. These questions imply that the proof of the eternal nature of God, is subject to the confirmation of a temporal situation[2 Corinthians 4:18]. Because of our current discomfort, we take the absolute truth about God's nature and stick a question mark at the end of it. The father of lies[John 8:44] introduced this concept of questioning the unquestionable to mankind. This he did, in order to get them to buy into his plan and seperate them from God to himself. He implied that God was not really seeking their best interest(despite all the evidence of creation to the contrary) and they believed Him[Genesis 3:1-7]. Over 2000 years ago God decided to settle forever, the Love question. Did He really love us? If so, How much? He produced evidence beyond doubt. He gave His greatest and best for us, who least deserved it, at our lowest point, in order to bring us back into a love relationship with Himself[Romans 5:6-8]. The ultimate price He paid reflected the value He placed on us[Romans 8:32]. That act was to serve as a memorial to the any question regarding His love for us[1 John 4:9]. A reference point, on which to anchor once and for all time, God's love for us[Ephesians 2:4]. Rather than being the first victim of negative circumstances, His love should be the rock upon which we stand to face every situation. Stop asking an outdated question, start living in the knowlege of His unfailing love. Welcome to the company of the immovable, unshakeable and triumphant.
