I did a double take on a well-worn phrase
"Welcome the mighty man of God"
It got me thinking of where the might really lies
Somehow, it did not seem right
Does the phrase "great cup of tea", praise the cup?
================&&&&&====================
My search through the Word soon put me right
As I made this interesting discovery
The law had been sent, to put the record straight
To prove to man, the failure of his might
And usher him to grace, instead
================&&&&&====================
In admission we submit to the only one
Mighty enough to save
In us He lives, to be our might
It didn't take long for the mix-up to begin
We assume His might as ours
Armed with this mind, we prance about
In the delusion that is called self
================&&&&&====================
Watch your step O' man
The truth will always triumph
To claim the might that is actually His
Is no less than a call, for life to find you out
When you reach the end of that
Which never was
================&&&&&====================
Sense has prevailed
As you come to the feet of His cross
Total submission, the door to all His might
Without fear of contradiction
We can now proclaim
"Here comes the man of a mighty God"
