A gathering of "spiritual" saints
Intercessors by name, continuous praying is the aim
Till God comes down, to hear our heartfelt pleas
From all over we hail, no price too high to pay
To gather in this special place, where God has put His "name"
Prepared to stay, even if it takes all night, or days at a time
No sacrifice too great, to bang on an open door

Saints, "we are gathered here today.."
To move the hands, of a "hesitant" God
To draw His attention, to a few things He may have missed
To impress on Him, the needs of His creation
In the hope that He will arise from slumber
And attend to these urgent needs
Turbo charging our prayers with tears and fasting
Till we assess, we have success
All these we do and more besides, as we bang on an open door
================&&&&&====================
Now, "let the prayers begin.."
The louder, the better, it seems
Putting all our energies in
Constant repeating of the same requests
"Lord you've got to do this, at our behest"
We grab the "horns of the alter"
To PUSH and PUSH and PUSH, (Praying Until Something Happens)
Travailing we will, till You deliver our hearts desire
We will carry on, till we feel you've got the point
Then just maybe, we can afford to rest, from banging on an open door

Time to call a "time-out", to consider some sobering facts
Let us look to the "Truth", not traditions of men
Lest we discover, our labour is in vain
He loves His creation, more than we could ever dream of
Their needs He knows, before they arise
All we ask, He has done already and stored in Christ
The door we are banging, has been ripped away
Through the flesh of His only Son
Look back to the cross, at the word "it is finished"
And let it all begin, to sink in
Is there really any point to this?, banging on an open door
================&&&&&====================
If we cease from our efforts long enough
We may notice a sign above the doorframe
"Come right on in, to my warm embrace
I'd love to have sweet fellowship with you
If you look in my Word, it tells of all I've done
Just so you can rest in Me"
So "come on then!!", what are we waiting for?
Lets revel in our Fathers love
Maybe just then, we'll exude such love
Till others be drawn to Him
