With the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, that fateful dilemma is resolved. Those who enter into Christ's being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud. A new power is in operation. The Spirit of life in Christ, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, freeing you from a fated lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death.

(Romans 8:1-2 MSG)

Question:

What does the term "gospel" mean?

Answer:

"In the Greek New Testament, gospel is the translation of the Greek noun euangelion (occurring 76 times) "good news," and the verb euangelizo

(occurring 54 times), meaning "to bring or announce good news." Both words are derived from the noun angelos, "messenger." In classical Greek, an euangelos was one who brought a message of victory or other political or personal news that caused joy. In addition, euangelizomai (the middle voice form of the verb) meant "to speak as a messenger of gladness, to proclaim good news." Further, the noun euangelion became a technical term for the message of victory, though it was also used for a political or private message that brought joy."

You used to be so full of joy

When you first received, the Gospel of your salvation

The good news, that you could have a new start

Jesus paid it all

The past is gone, replaced by a future full of hope

You made the great escaped from hell

Heaven is to be your new home

O' happy day, when you discovered

That Jesus washed you past away

================&&&&&====================

Time has passed, how things have changed

That which you received freely, is becoming costly to retain

Now they tell you of the work required, to make salvation secure

Your old sins may have been forgiven

But subsequent ones are charged to you account

You may be saved now, but who knows tomorrow?

It's no wonder your joy has waned

Contemplating your future with despair

As they read you the hidden small prints

It's not such a happy day, any more

When you discovered, all is not as it seemed

================&&&&&====================

I've walked that road, having gone before

So I bear for you, the Gospel for the saved

The good news is that, the work is complete

There's nothing more to add

All your sins, past, present and future

Have been paid for in one great swoop

The Life you received is eternal indeed

Never to be done away with

His love for you is unconditional

Nothing you do, can make or break it

He has taken up residence within

To ensure you reach the finish line

O' happy day, when you discover

That Jesus, has really come to stay

================&&&&&====================

That should put a smile on your face

If you truly believe it

The weights should now start to drop

If you will gladly receive it

Hope should arise in your heart

As you walk in the knowledge of it

O' happy days are here again

When you discover, the Gospel to the saved
