"You prepare a banquet for me, where all my enemies can see me; you welcome me as an honored guest and fill my cup to the brim." (Psalms 23:5 GNB)

================&&&&&====================

I don't know where I got it from

But I always thought that being a Christian

Meant not having any more problems

I figured if He loved me

He would clear out any hurdles

I suppose that s the kind of victory, I like

Seemed to make sense at the time

================&&&&&====================

I must admit, that has never been my reality

But that never stopped me from dreaming

Of a life with out contradictions

I figured, if that was the case

Then I could be happy and full of His peace

If I didn't have happening, that tried to steal them from me

================&&&&&====================

It will always be a pipe dream

There is no precedence in life or in the Word

For a life without facing challenges

Those obstacles are the very stepping-stones

To get where you need to be

David killed His Goliath and moved a step closer

To His place on the throne

================&&&&&====================

Ever heard of a victory with out battles?

An over comer, with nothing to overcome?

A strong man, who never lifted any weights?

Success, with out any tasks?

Daniel was promoted after every trial

Joseph made the palace via the way of the prison

================&&&&&====================

Jesus was the ultimate example

The cross, the prelude to His greatest triumph

Jehoshaphat faced an innumerable company

Only to collect an unquantifiable hoard of spoil

Paul faced a multitude of hardships

Came out, learning to trust His inexhaustible grace

"My grace is sufficient for you"; He was told

I dare say, "the same applies to me"

================&&&&&====================

I should have known this from the Word

Jesus told His disciples to be of good cheer

And then told of the hardship to come

"Peace I give you, but not as the world gives" He said

The difference was, the world's peace

Fails in the face of opposition

His peace passes all understanding

It remains, even when all hell breaks loose

================&&&&&====================

I've changed my view, since this revelation

No longer praying for it to be easier

But that I learn to walk in His ever sufficient grace

Getting stronger and stronger in His great strength

God loves me and wants me to walk in peace and joy

That is circumstance proof

To be happy and enjoy, His wonderful feast of life

In the presence of my enemies

================&&&&&====================
