"Milk is for beginners, inexperienced in God's ways; solid food is for the mature, who have some practice in telling right from wrong." (Hebrews 5:13-14 MSG)

================&&&&&====================

When you take a bite, from food you cannot chew

Don't swallow hard or you'll be in danger of choking

It doesn't mean, it's not for you

You're just not ready for it yet

Take it out and eat in smaller bits

Get a feel for it and your jaw muscles will strengthen

Keep doing this, till you feel right at home with it

When that time comes, you ll know you ve reached a new level

You can now handle strong meat and will benefit from

All the goodness, that kind of food provides

================&&&&&====================

So it is, with spiritual food

The preaching of grace can be hard

For those who have dieted on religion, for a long time

Grace and religion can be so far apart

Religion says repent and put in under the blood

Grace says it was forgiven before it was done

You could feel like you are choking, on the latter

If you have grown up believing, the former

My advice to you, is don't swallow hard

Or throw the whole thing away

================&&&&&====================

Admit you find it hard to accept

Such a radical departure from where you are

It may be time to question your belief

Did the Spirit reveal it or just merely doctrines of men?

Do you believe because others do?

Or because it is truth for you?

Don't be afraid of the unknown

God will always lead you to the truth

And His spirit within you, will rejoice when you find it

Let the Holy Spirit break it down for you

Keep working on it

Till you are more at home with it

================&&&&&====================

Here is what you need to understand

Truth stands line upon line

Precept by precept it is built

You may be missing the foundation of the truth

Or not understand the context within which it sits

As with a puzzle with bits missing

Keep it, till you get the other bits

Then the whole picture may unfold

Like comprehending the "new creation" with out

Knowing we are spirit, soul and body

I suggest you step back, from what you find hard to see

And start building its stepping-stones from scratch

Till you stand where you teacher stands

Then you may see, as they see

The truth that has come, to set you free

================&&&&&====================

If with the first pass it doesn't register

Keep it going in, till the shafts of light start to emerge

Enlightening your understanding, to all we have in Christ

Your mind has been exposed to so much religion

It takes time to scratch out the old grooves

And lay the tracks of the good news of grace

You will find, that it is time well worthwhile

As you begin to experience His awesome love

Unshackle from the chains of a law you cannot keep

And live in the power of Christ from within

Oh what righteousness, peace and joy awaits

As we manifest His kingdom from within

You'll be glad you didn't choke or throw it out

This sweet message of grace that comes to make us glad

================&&&&&====================
