I see the longing on your face
As you desire to experience, more of Him
You plead with Him, for that fresh touch
As you sing of your desperation within

How I long for you to walk with me
In the certainty of His indwelling presence
Knowing He will never leave
All of His power already resides within

You're trying so hard, to be pleasing to Him
You've been convicted so often, for failing to keep
All the promises you made to Him
To pray more, fast more, read more, attend more
On and on the burdens grow
How I long, you rest with me
In the truth that He is as pleased as can be
As He sees me in the spirit of Christ
Who did all it took to please the Lord
I'm accepted unconditionally in the beloved
We are side by side, yet worlds apart

Broken by the pain, you think you caused Him
By committing that recurring sin
You promised your self the last time, was the last
But alas, your resolve, failed again
When will you ever be free, from this yo-yo Christianity?
Up one day and down the next
Here goes the repentance and penance, until you feel He's forgiven
Before you start letting Him, love you again
I know first hand, this does not have to be
His blood paid for every sin, past, present and future
If you just give up completely
And let Him live, this righteous life through you
Knowing sin, can no longer rule
As you bury the sin nature with Christ
We are side by side, yet worlds apart

You wait for that perfect day
When your much sought after breakthrough, will come
When God is better disposed to release
The blessing that will end all blessings
And lighten the load of life you carry
"This is your season"; you are told
God is ready for you now, just like he was, last time
I had walked this road with you
Till I discovered all I needed, has already been delivered
Parceled in the Spirit of Christ
When the new creation was formed in me
I no longer look to the future
I live in the confidence of what is already done
I manifest it, as my mind is renewed, to see all I have in Him
We are side by side, yet worlds apart

I wished I could pour all I know, into you
But I know you believe in what you are doing
Convinced that one day it will deliver
That Utopian life you seek
Where it all works, because you hit all the right buttons
I know you will not be ready for my world of grace
Till you come to the point of entry
Nobody submits to God
To live a life they think they can live, with just a little help from Him
To experience this world of grace
You have to give up your efforts and give in to His life
But we never seem to do it voluntarily
So life is tasked with bringing us to the end of "self"
Then maybe you can start this walk with me
Till we are side by side, in His world of love
