I want to say at the outset that I passionately believe in church; however, I must also tell you that I do not believe that what we have come to know as 'church' today bears any resemblance whatsoever to the concept of 'church' as experienced in the New Testament. This is not to say that these early saints ever realised their fullness of what was theirs in Christ... but they did at least have [especially under Paul] a 'wineskin' capable of containing the New Wine of the Spirit.
