We arrived safely on Thursday evening. Having been travelling since 4:00am we had little interest in anything other than a shower and a good night
s sleep. Friday was a rest day which we took full advantage of, but by Saturday morning we were in full swing. Whilst the weather in Sao Paulo has been cooler than we had anticipated the welcome we have received continues to exude its perennial warmth. What a tremendous reception we received at the Vida Academic Conference where we launched the new[est] book
Until Christ is Formed in You.
Vida, the highly respected book distributors organised a conference for me to speak on
Understanding the New Identity.
To our delight the conference was oversubscribed. Owing to the fact that he conference ran on much longer than had been anticipated [it was due to end at 12:00 but ran through until after 2:00pm such was the enthusiasm of the delegates for the subject matter and the inexhaustible capacity of the speaker to talk !! we found ourselves running very late for our meeting with the Grace Project ecclesia in Vinedo which meets in Fabio & Simone
s home.
When eventually we did arrive we had a wonderful ecclesia and really saw the life of Christ in our midst. Arriving back to our hotel late in the night we rested in readiness for Sunday
s schedule which would see us visit our Memorial, our partner church in SP [see blogg
The Look of Love
and then drive to Santos to meet with the leadership of Ciao Fabio
s station there before speaking at the station later that evening. The meeting with the leaders was especially insightful. I spoke to them on the subject of the servant leader [a better messenger for a better message.] As we discussed the issue of leading in the new paradigm it became clear that many of us who have taken flight from the institutional church and gathered at our respective Caves of Adullam have much to reflect upon if we are to turn Saul
s overcome into David
s overcomers. You
ll see some writings on this in the coming days as I am very pre-occupied with this question as it relates to the Grace Projects both at home and abroad. On Monday we recorded a programme for television which will be broadcast here on Friday night. I continue to be amazed by the favour that we receive here in Brazil. A door has truly been flung wide open here for me to tell of his love and grace. To God be the glory. There can be few better ways to spend an evening than in the company of the Brazilian minstrel Jorge Camargo and his wife Ana Paula and so it was with delight that we spent a relaxing evening in their company dreaming together about our ongoing collaboration in the cause of freedom.
