Not even the tropical storm that blew through Sao Paulo on Sunday night could dampen the ardour of
The Bambi
[Sao Paulo FC the Chelsea of Brazil] as they celebrated being crowned champions of Brazil. Neither could a couple of storm related power cuts curtail the celebrations that were taking place inside Cristo Salvo where Pastor Saldo had invited us to preach that evening. It is something truly wonderful when our message is welcomed among the Neo Pentecostals. It was also a joy to be able to give Phillip, our constant and loving companion, translator and friend key Grace Project worker in Brazil to rest as our dear friend Eduardo who himself runs two Grace Project ecclesias in Sao Paulo stood in as my translator. When Duda translates always expect the unexpected
we bring the thespian out of each other. What fun we had as we shared from a message from Roms 1 entitled
I am not ashamed of the gospel.
It was a great evening that finished off a wonderful day which had begun at Ciao Fabio
s Way of Grace Station in SP run by Carlos & his family who are something of a benchmark for what it means to be a Pastor in the new way. It is an exceptional work. Jorge Camargo joined us at The Way of Grace and the precious minstrel opened heaven for us as he played. It was divine. I spoke from 2 Cor 3-4 on the theme of The Minsters of the New Covenant. The Lord has really impressed in my own heart primacy of servanthood in these days and it has been something of a mantra since we have been here.
We got to lunch with our friends from Santos and had the opportunity to share our hearts on the issue establishing agape communities. Roberto sends his regards to Traci [our blogg queen] he loved her blogg entitled Plato and was sorry that he was unable to communicate how much he really loved in when he wrote to her. Yesterday was our treat. We spent the day with Phillip, TaTa & Veridiana and Jorge & Ana Camago relaxing and enjoying Jesus together. It was such fun to see the two minstrels together. Now what pray do you think that minstrels do when they get together? They play of course and so all the benefits accrued to us as we enjoyed a private concert. It felt fitting that our last ecclesia on this visit should be with pastor Johanis and his precious family. Few people that we have met have so wonderfully embodied the gift of love and hospitality as this dear family. A large group had gathered for the meeting and I had the privilege of speaking to them the subject of the adoption of sonship from Galatians chapter 4 And so another visit comes to an end. Sadly, there never seems to be enough time for us to meet with all the people that we would like to connect with. Our apologies if you were hoping to see us whilst we were here and it didn
t work out. As we prepare to leave for home we are conscious of an ever increasing debt of love. Thank you so much to our hosts Phillip & his family Fabio & Simone, Jonathas, Bia, and all the Grapho family; Ta Ta & Veridiana, Jorge & Ana, Jefferson & Precila, Johanis & family, Roberto and all the brothers and sisters from Santos Eduardo & Selina, David & Vivianne, Carlos and family and our many other friends. Thank you. We came with the principle objective of launching the new book Until Christ if Formed at the Vida Academic Conference and have leave with a great many things to ponder as we look through the door that the Lord has opened for us here in Brazil. The book has been greeted with real enthusiasm. Let Johanis
wife
s testimony stand:
The Bonsai Conspiracy removed the veil
Until Christ is Formed went deep inside my heart.
I was so pleased by that differentiation. I wrote the Bonsai Conspiracy to explain our message but I wrote Until Christ is Formed with one purpose in mind that the reader would fall hopelessly in love with Jesus knowing that after all that they had been through they were at last
Safe & Sound.
My prayer now is that the books will be well received back home in England
well let
