"We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled. When I was an infant at my mother's breast, I gurgled and cooed like any infant. When I grew up, I left those infant ways for good. We don't yet see things clearly. We're squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won't be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We'll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us! But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love." (1 Corinthians 13:9-13 MSG)

================&&&&&====================

You came from over there

I come from over here

Our parts do now meet

In this landscape of truth

The land is laid bare before us

Many paths from which to choose

================&&&&&====================

We have chosen the path of grace

We revel in the freedom it brings

We have had many helpers along the way

As we travel this landscape of truth

There are signposts to decipher

Terrain to navigate, in this adventure of faith

================&&&&&====================

So far, so good

Till we reached a new turn

I'm inclined to go to the left

You prefer to take the right

We have a go at resolving our differences

But alas, we disagree

Am I right or are you wrong?

Which is the path to take?

================&&&&&====================

My flesh was the first to react

I could only ever be right

There was only one option left to consider

You must certainly be wrong

It is my duty to prevail upon you

Till you see the error of your ways

So I adorn my best arguments

And let you have it, right between the eyes

================&&&&&====================

I think I won, or at least I silenced you

So why is my joy short-lived

Must be His spirit that indwells us both

That grieves for the one who is hurt

Is the loss of a brother's love?

A good enough price for winning an argument?

The only right answer is No!

================&&&&&====================

I have repented of my "fit of carnality"

Reviewed the matter in the spirit of Christ

We are part of the same body

All on a journey of learning

I may be wrong, you may be right

I may be right, you may be wrong

We may both be right, we may both be wrong

Regardless, the bond of love prevails

================&&&&&====================

For now, we agree to disagree

As we grow and learn, we may meet again

At the point where both views intersect

If that never happens in this lifetime

Over there, all will be revealed

By then, I doubt, If it will really matter

We will be right where we were heading, anyway

Above all things, Love prevailed

Even when we disagreed
