1. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23 MKJV)
2. "Everybody dies in Adam; everybody comes alive in Christ." (1 Corinthians 15:22 MSG)
3. "The thief comes only in order to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come in order that you might have life---life in all its fullness." (John 10:10 GNB)
4. "Jesus answered him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me." (John 14:6 GNB)
We need this God kind of life, to be reunited to the nature of God and partake in His eternal purpose. Receiving the life of Christ is the core element of the salvation package. We that were dead (separated from Him) are saved by His life(through union with Him).
1. "But God has shown us how much he loves us---it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us! By his blood we are now put right with God; how much more, then, will we be saved by him from God's anger! We were God's enemies, but he made us his friends through the death of his Son. Now that we are God's friends, how much more will we be saved by Christ's life!" (Romans 5:8-10 GNB)
2. "And this is the record that God has given to us everlasting life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I have written these things to you who believe on the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have everlasting life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God." (1 John 5:11-13 MKJV)
3. "But the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." (Romans 8:2 MKJV)
4. "After Jesus finished saying this, he looked up to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come. Give glory to your Son, so that the Son may give glory to you. For you gave him authority over all people, so that he might give eternal life to all those you gave him. And eternal life means to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, whom you sent." (John 17:1-3 GNB)
5. "For the scripture says, "The first man, Adam, was created a living being"; but the last Adam is the life-giving Spirit." (1 Corinthians 15:45 GNB)
We see then that the eternal kind of life we need is in Christ. To get this life we would need to get Christ in us. Cleansed by His blood, to become living temples of God.
1. "Come to the Lord, the living stone rejected by people as worthless but chosen by God as valuable. Come as living stones, and let yourselves be used in building the spiritual temple, where you will serve as holy priests to offer spiritual and acceptable sacrifices to God through Jesus Christ." (1 Peter 2:4-5 GNB)
2. "Do you not know that you are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" (1 Corinthians 3:16 MKJV)
He is the living God
He wants a living family
He is the living God
We, dead in sin
Need His life to live
He is not the God of the dead
We died in first Adam
He is not the God of the dead
He gave last Adam, a living spirit
He is the God of life
To us, His life He gave
He is the God of life
In union with Him we live
He is our God; He lives forever
The life He gives, lasts forever
He is our God; He lives forever
He gave us life to live forever
He is the God of the living
He gave life for the living
He is the God of the living
