Philadelphia Freedom…

I am looking forward to heading home tomorrow evening and being back in London for the weekend. It’s been a great trip it has been wonderful to see that in Christ there is no division between the so called secular and sacred. Instead I have discovered that Christ all and in all. The Lord seemed to be as at home in being Christ as me in the corporate training room as he was being Christ through me in the tent meetings at Louisville. It makes no difference to God we minister His divine presence in all our comings and goings, the only variable is whether we are living from Christ or self-consciousness.

If you get a chance have a listen/download the Live from Louisville in Conversation series you’ll be enriched and enchanted the life of Christ that is expressed through those dear people.

One of the abiding memories for me from the tent meetings was David Heisler’s comment that the sin of the believer is to try to do good! We are free of that aren’t we – free of “trying” to do anything and freed to simply be Christ. Dead to self-consciousness and alive only to Christ and Christ-consciousness. That is the freedom that we are to declare.

I always enjoy my time in Philly it’s a great city. Although the training facility that I work in here is in the Lafayette Hill area near Plymouth Meetings I like to get into Old City whenever time allows. If you ever have the privilege of visiting Philadelphia make a point of going to Independence Hall in Old City. The values of America are coming under increasing scrutiny these days but I will always remember the sense of reverence that I felt when I stood before the Liberty Bell which is on display in the exhibition centre. Maybe you didn’t know that the

LEV. XXV X.

That cry still goes out today and nowhere is that clarion more needed to be rung out than in the church of Jesus Christ. “Ring Loud the hallowed bell!... Ring it till every slave be free.” H H Moore 1844. Now that my friends Philadelphia freedom.

bell was made by the Whitechapel Bell Foundry in East London. To the dismay of onlookers, the bell cracked the first time it was rung. Well whilst the bell is cracked the spirit of the inscription rings out in the hearts of men:
