"What came into existence was Life, and the Life was Light to live by. The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn't put it out." (John 1:4-5 MSG)

================&&&&&====================

I seek to please Him

Still the darkness invades

The weaknesses of my flesh

Pulling me down

How I long to be free of it

================&&&&&====================

I resist

As I know to do

I say I don't want to

But this I do

No matter how far away,

I seem to get

I find myself

Being reeled back in

================&&&&&====================

Then I learnt

This simple truth

There's no point

In fighting the dark

Let it be

And turn on the light

It must recede

As light invades

It just can't get over it

I no longer fight the dark

I bask in the light

Of the Son of God instead

================&&&&&====================
