The Grace Project

Does grace promote sin?

There will always be those who feel that that grace is giving the licence to sin. Some might even call it a “Sinner’s Charter.”
The Apostle Peter responded to these false teachers in 2 Peter 3:16.   “ There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.” We must not confuse righteous works with “works of righteousness.”

Yet, sadly, it is the latter which is the very thing being promoted as an aide to bring us closer to God and which has precisely the opposite effect.  Paradoxically, “holiness” teaching is actively, although unwittingly, campaigning against God’s purpose of conforming believers into the image of Christ (Romans 8:29). Love and Fear do not mix any more than Grace and Law.

Does Grace Promote Sin?

The Apostle Paul responded to the question I stated above, in Romans 6:1‐2: “What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?” Understanding the grace of God brings freedom and that freedom, rather than stirring up the flesh, empowers us to love and love thinks not of itself but instead, says, “It’s not about me; it’s about you.” Love seeks to serve and bless others rather than take and offend (1 Corinthians 13:4‐7).

Discover who you really are?

The strap-line of The Grace Project - "Discover who you Really are" - suggests, we take the view that many, if not, most believers not only have yet to discover this truth but worse, in the absence of this awareness, they (we) are left to live out of our "own" resources with the inevitable consequences of burnout and disillusionment.

When the idea for this book was first conceived, it was born out of a simple desire to help reframe the “Good News”...
Are you "living by the rules, " or are you letting God's grace rule you?
We cannot ignore the fact that there are a growing number of peo‑ ple who used to profess a faith and call themselves Christians but no longer do so.
